Coachella Valley Family Favorite – Candy Cane Lane 30 Year Tradition Continues 2020!!

Each year for the past 30 years has seen the neighborhood of Minerva Road in Cathedral City turn into a holiday wonderland where each home is decorated with elaborate and fun Christmas light decorations.

Minerva Lane in Cathedral City, a.k.a Candy Cane Lane: 50 Homes in a residential neigborhood Decorated on Minerva Rd in Cathedral City usually the Last Week of November Through the first week in January. Very Popular for the holidays.

KESQ reports: “Candy Cane Lane” is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Coachella, attracting thousands of people to Minerva Road.

Residents do ask attendees to remain in their vehicle as much as possible this year and follow the proper protocols to help prevent any possible spread of coronavirus and allow people to continue to enjoy the Christmas lights.

“Many of us do want to keep the spirit as best we can,” said Cara Van Dijk, a 20-year resident of Candy Cane Lane.

Dijk said most homeowners are not putting up decorations in the yard that would cause touching or encourage people to congregate.

Minerva Road is located between Tachevah Drive and Avenida La Vista in Cathedral City.

When Should I Go?

There are no opening or closing times for Candy Cane Lane. Lights come on at dark. This is a residential area so common sense prevails as too how late you should go.
