Look How Far We’ve Come Coachella Valley

About a year ago we began an adventure in this community we love.  We started a Facebook Page on a Wednesday night, not unlike the one tonight.  We chose to call it simply the Coachella Valley Facebook Page with a simple mission to share about the amazing People, the Places and the Things going on in this great, great community (worth repeating) we live in.

We are so honored to be able to capture in photo, word and sometimes video, this amazing place we call HOME, the Coachella Valley.  It all started with a logo Smiling face (black and white) and then a Facebook page, then came Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, PinterestFlickr,… well you get the point and then a few weeks ago we launched our online Blog the Coachella Valley Life Blog.

Most of the stories are about you and written by those who are probably your neighbor.  Homegrown and Local!! We are very excited by our future… really it’s your future.  We are the proverbial fly on the wall !! Smiling face (black and white)

You guys helped us to become the fastest and most engaged page, even outpacing at one point the Desert Sun and KESQ, despite not being a news based page. We were just sharing about our cities, the people from East Valley to West and our neighboring communities in the High Desert and on the Mountain top.  We posted, tweeted and blogged on events, reported on places we were going, where we were eating and strived to give to you a Photo of the Day, which we still do everyday, and sometimes even a Photo of the Night.

Don’t get us wrong we’ve had our share of breaking news too: Haboobs, Earthquakes, Big Dan’s passing and closure of his beloved Big Mama’s Soul Food, Elephant Bar closing, Saxony Real Estate folding…. and many more stories…  but its more about you than flash stories for us.

Because of your support all the major signature events, along with the daily going on events have all embraced us and allowed us to report, photograph and even get An Insider’s View to share with you.

Even in our infancy we and members of our team were able to publish photography and in most cases write about as Official Media for almost every major event this year: Humana, Frank Sinatra Celebrity Golf, BNP Tennis Tournament, Kraft Nabisco Championship at Mission Hills, DHS Spa Tour, Modernisn Week, Fashion Week, Food and Wine Festival, Coachella, Splash House, Stagecoach, Joshua Tree Music Festival, Desert Concorso, Tour de Palm Springs, etc., and just this past weekend the Palm Springs Modern Committee 12th Annual (PSMODCOM) Preservation Awards.  You can see most all our photos for these events published on our Coachella Valley Flickr Feed.

But really its been about you and it will continue to be. Your photos, involvement, sharing and helping us with typos, grammar, and sharing your stories.  We have had Photos from all over the Valley submitted and shared by Professionals, and Avid Amateur Photographers alike.  And of course our own Coachella Valley Famous Photographer Jim Civello, wowing our readers with what only Jim can produce.

Our future remains in your hands, and quite honestly that excites us.  Our goal is to share more of your stories, promote your events and tell the world about this awesome place we live in… can’t say it enough the… Coachella Valley.

Very truly yours,
