4-year-old becomes youngest to die from COVID-19 in Riverside County

A 4-year-old child from Western Riverside County dies after contracting COVID-19, becoming the youngest person in the county to die from the virus since the pandemic started, county officials announced Friday.

The child, had no underlying health conditions according to officials and remained in the hospital for a short period of time prior to succumbing to COVID-19.
The name of the child and city of residence in the Western area of the county are not being released.
The death took place during the first week of August, but health officials reported the cause of death this week after receiving confirmation from the coroner’s office. The name of the child and city of residence are not being released.
