11th Annual Night Sky Festival Returns to Twentynine Palms October 9–10, 2026
Sky’s The Limit Observatory & Nature Center and Joshua Tree National Park Association present the 11th Annual Night Sky Festival, a weekend dedicated to the awe-inspiring night skies of the Mojave Desert.

Event Dates: Friday, October 9 (9:00 AM) – Saturday, October 10 (11:00 PM PDT) Location: Sky’s The Limit Observatory & Nature Center, 9697 Utah Trail, Twentynine Palms, California.
About the Event: Join us for a family-friendly weekend featuring constellation tours, telescope clinics, hands-on science activities, inspiring lectures from NASA scientists, a family Space Camp, glow-themed events, and unforgettable stargazing experiences.
The Purpose: Festival proceeds benefit two local nonprofit organizations dedicated to inspiring
the next generation of park stewards and science enthusiasts. Sky’s The Limit Observatory & Nature Center provides hands-on learning experiences focused on the desert, Earth, and the night sky. Joshua Tree National Park Association’s DiscoverJTREE program connects youth throughout the Morongo Basin with outdoor education and meaningful experiences in Joshua Tree National Park.

● Telescope Clinic – Friday, 5:00–9:00 PM (Limited spots, $30)
● Night Sky Glow Party – Friday, 8:00–10:00 PM (Free)
● Family Space Camp – Saturday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM (Free for accompanying adults; $25
per child)
● Astronomy Lecture Series – Saturday, 1:00–4:30 PM (Free)
● Star Party Happy Hour – Saturday, 4:00–6:00 PM (Free)
● Night Sky Star Party – Saturday 7:00-11:00 PM ($75 adults; $35 children)

Watch Now Live- Happening Tonight – Palm Springs VillageFest, the City’s wildly popular street fair which prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, was held every Thursday night in downtown, will return on Thursday, July 1. Coachella Valley!
With COVID-19 cases significantly down, the City Council approved re-opening VillageFest at their last night meeting, with a smaller footprint and safety protocols in place. The street fair is expected to expand to its original length in the coming months. During the summer, VillageFest hours of operation will be 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
