#RanchoMirage could soon get its first In-N-Out Burger with a drive thru… for reals…. 🍔🍟🥤
A loophole allows drive thrus on Bob Hope but not Hwy 111. Read on…
Some say it is a done deal and will be located in the Rancho Las Palmas Shopping Center and be equipped with a drive-thru.
The Shopping Center and proposed construction is located at 42-450 Bob Hope Drive and is home to Starbucks, Stein Mart, CVS Pharmacy, Hobby Lobby, and more. CVS and Starbucks both operate drive thrus at the same center, which makes it a perfect location in our opinion.
The city’s planning commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Sept. 12, regarding the potential construction of an In-N-Out in the Rancho Las Palmas shopping center.
The proposed restaurant would be approximately 3,885 square feet, according to the city.
The public hearing will be held at 2 p.m. inside the city council chambers at 69-825 Highway 111.
If approved, the Rancho Mirage location would be the fourth In-N-Out in the Coachella Valley. The Irvine based burger chain operates 3 additional locations in, Thousand Palms, Indio, and La Quinta.
This In-N-Out restaurant would be approximately 3,885 square feet, according to the city.
Former Mayor Richard Kite confirmed to the CoachellaValley.com a few months ago that Rancho Mirage have been in discussions with the Irvin-based In-N-Out Burger for awhile.
Carl Arena, vice president of Real Estate and Development for In-N-Out Burger, told the CoachellaValley.com, “Our Real Estate team is always evaluating new sites. While we have looked at opportunities in Rancho Mirage, we are still in the very, very early stages of that process.
It would be extremely premature to speculate when or even if we will open a restaurant there.”
Cathedral City leaders have long tried to attract In-N-Out Burger to open a restaurant in their community, which is the second largest city in the Coachella Valley.
“The good news is that if In-N-Out Burger locates in Rancho Mirage, that does not mean Cathedral City is out,”
Stone James, director of economic development for Cathedral City told Uken Report. “A ‘yes’ to Rancho Mirage is not a ‘no’ for Cathedral City.”
James said efforts are still underway to get an In-N-Out opened in the western portion of the city.
