As the Coachella Valley is rocked by it’s third
major music festival weekend in as many weeks, just
across the San Jacinto Mountains lies another music
festival that is well worth exploring! So we decided to
escape the heat for a weekend and check out this
Mecca for local techno, house, and EDM music.
A Bit of History:
Desert Hearts is the brainchild of Ex-Pat Brit Lee
Reynolds, Mikey Lion, Porky,Marbs and Deep Jesus
and aims to create a supreme atmosphere of love and
euphoria.
All of the founders are artists themselves and have
played an impressive line up of festivals between them,
forging the way for the house techno scene of the west
coast.

Beginning with 200 followers in 2012, this gathering
has grown to over 5,000 who gathered at the Los
Coyotes Indian reserve to exist as one for a weekend.
The 72hrs of straight music pulses through the camp,
encouraging festival goers to let their freak flags fly!
Experience:
Desert Hearts is a culmination of music, spirituality,
friendship, and so much more. I arrived and was
immediately encompassed in a world of fire dancers,
fashion shows, yoga classes, and non-stop music that
kept the energy alive throughout the weekend.
Without any cell service or wifi to connect to everyday
felt like another opportunity to reconnect with the
people around you and just live in the moment.
Swapping the Do-Lab at Coachella for the Burning
man-esque atmosphere of Desert Hearts just
mightblow your mind! Hopefully we will see you there
next year, in the meantime here are a few of our
favorite shots from the weekend :
