Porcupine Creek, Rancho Mirage’s renowned, premiere private golf club, is about to undergo a dramatic do-over, redesigned to become a 6-star world class, luxury health spa/golf facility.
Recent Project Updates
- October 30, 2020 — Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) released. Public review and comment period begins.
- July 27, 2020 — City of Rancho Mirage Issues Notice of Preparation
The new retreat facility here will have 50 guest bungalows, an 18-hole golf course, serve up unique dining experiences and a wellness staff for guests, among countless other amenities.
“The new retreat will join other iconic destinations here – from Sunnylands to the Ritz Carlton Hotel – with the style and dignity that defines Rancho Mirage”, remarked Rancho Mirage councilman Ted Weill. “It will cater to an international clientele,”

“The Retreat is a proposed repositioning of the Porcupine Creek property from a private enclave to a six-star, exclusive guest experience.
The Retreat will blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape and will place Rancho Mirage among the world’s most desirable health and wellness destinations.”
Also, the web site says: “Repositioning Plans have been submitted to the City of Rancho Mirage and are proceeding through the required entitlement process. The project team welcomes input from the community and looks forward to working with all stakeholders to create a world-class Retreat that brings noteworthy prestige and economic growth to Rancho Mirage.”
And the site further says…”Site plan, highlighted areas depict proposed repositioning expansion. Conceptual representation of a maximum 50-key build out; actual programming subject to change.”
PC officials have filed an entitlement package which includes applications for an Environmental Impact Report, Specific Plan, General Plan Zoning Map Amendment and a Development Agreement for the proposed project at Porcupine Creek with the City of Rancho Mirage.
