Si Woo Kim wins PGA Tour’s The American Express in La Quinta, Ca

LA QUINTA, CA – PGA TOUR – FINAL ROUND

Si Woo Kim wins The American Express for his third TOUR title, by just one stroke taking home $1,206,000.

The overall prize money payout on Sunday at The American Express is $6.7 million with the winner taking $1.2M in La Quinta, California today.

Final Round Weather: Mostly sunny. High of 64. Wind NW 7-14 mph.

Kim wrapped up his third bogey-free round of the tournament — all on the Pete Dye-designed Stadium Course — with a two-putt par on the 18th to finish at 23-under 265 in this event long hosted by Bob Hope. Kim won by just one stroke over Patrick Cantlay.

“I just tried to focus on my game,” Kim said. “I didn’t even know I had a bogey-free round today.”

Kim joined Collin Morikawa as the only PGA TOUR players under 26 years old with three tournament wins.
