The officers are “charged with enforcing the order and educating anyone not wearing a face covering about the importance of following the rules. Face coverings will also be provided, if needed,” according to the city’s statement.

“This is about education,” said Palm Springs Chief of Police Bryan Reyes. “For the health and safety of our residents, visitors and workers, it is imperative that we ensure the face-covering requirement is top of mind and that everyone continues to work together to get through this difficult time.”

On January 26, Gov Newsom abrubtly reversed his Restrictive Stay At Home Order [1]in favor of his previously Color Tiered System for Re-opening. Most of California, along with the Coachella Valley are under the Purple, Tier 1 guidelines allowing outdoor dining, personal services, hotels and more to re-open.
