North Shore Xtreme 2016 – At the Salton Sea
Outrigger Canoe, SUP and Small Crafts Racing – Oh My!!
SEAthletes in partnership with the Department of Parks And Recreation is hosting the North Shore Xtreme 2016.
This event is bringing outrigger canoe, SUP and small crafts racing to the Salton Sea for the first time. Come celebrate and learn about this largest body of inland water in California.
Join us in a race to save the Salton Sea. It’s the lowest outrigger race in the world. $40 per paddler for unlimited races.
The Salton Sea is disappearing. SEAthletes is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization driven to get people on the water and to be mindful of California’s largest body of water.
We are hosting the North Shore Extreme (NSX) — the lowest paddle event in the world.
The NSX race will be 9 AM to 11 AM. It will be the competitive race for all crafts: Outrigger, SUP, Prone, Surfski and kayaks.
There will be awards presented for first, second and third place finishes for all crafts, courses and categories (Race Divisions).

The Salton Sea Scramble race will be 1 PM to 3 PM. It will be the non-competitive race that allows everyone the chance to grab a craft or a partner or scramble a team together and paddle the short or long course.
The KAI WAI Kids paddle will be 3 PM to 4 PM. It will be the chance for experienced paddlers to take kids out paddling for the first time.
Sunday morning, 10 AM to 12 PM, it will be a ‘Fun’day race. All crafts, all ages, all fun.
So come camp and paddle with a purpose February 12-14, 2016.
For every one paddler we can get on the water through personal participation or through sharing images of the sea on social networks, we will be able to increase passionate Salton Sea advocates tenfold.
Your participation could make a big difference on how broad our reach can be to shine a new light on the Salton Sea.
