?? ? If you live in the desert, you have no doubt seen this beautiful, crazy and abundant butterfly migration we are currently in the middle of. Special to Todays California by Kimmie Sue ?

These butterflies are called Painted Ladies and are a distant cousin to the Monarch butterfly.

There are swarms out right now and they fly way to fast to get a decent pic or video. Unfortunately, many end up on my windshield on my many adventures. ☹️

According to the research I did, there are about a billion butterflies migrating north from the deserts of Mexico to Oregon. They can fly up to 100 miles per day!

This is the most I have seen since we have been in the desert and they are attributing it to all the rain and the abundant wildflowers we have right now. ??? we are so fortunate to be in the middle of all this beauty! ?
