Mon – May 30th, Annual Memorial Day Air Fair and Flower Drop

Join us on May 30 for Our Annual Memorial Day Flower Drop & Air Fair

Join us as we salute and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice with a 1 pm ceremony followed by a Missing Man formation and dropping of red and white carnations from a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter. 

The day will also feature:

• Music from Heatwave Jazz Band
• Food for sale from Carl’s Jr., Smokey Lips BBQ, 1320 Street Tacos, Luigi’s SlushLife, Victory Canteen, and Ben & Jerry’s
• Kids’ activities and Harpo the Clown
• Flight exhibitions throughout both days
• Warbird rides start at $125 (advanced sale online at psairmuseum.org)

On Monday, May 30 Air Fair starts at 10 am and the Flower Drop Ceremony starts at 1 pm.

Kids 12 and under enter free with paid adult admission! Regular admission ranges from $18 – $20 per person.

The flower drop honors and memorializes all veterans who lost their lives defending the US.  The white carnations are in honor of those who fought in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam.  The red carnations are in honor of those who died in more recent conflicts including the Persian Gulf, Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan. Along with the carnations, a dozen roses will be added in honor of local Gold Star Families – those local families who lost loved ones while serving our country.  Hunter Lopez’ family is the most recent Gold Star Family.

Returning after a few years’ absence is the PB4Y Privateer and NEW this year is the Franklin D. Roosevelt / Harry Truman Presidential Armored Limousine, courtesy of Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
