Annual Memorial Day Air Fair and Flower Drop

May 27 – Palm Springs

This is a very special day at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Our brief Memorial service is dedicated to all of our fallen comrades, who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. In their honor, we highlight the service with a fly-by and flower drop of over 3,000 red and white carnations from B-25 Mitchell bomber. This most impressive ceremony is our way of saluting our fallen comrades. Visitors are welcome to pick up a flower to take home. Flight exhibitions & activities scheduled all day long, Memorial Ceremony and Flower Drop scheduled for 1PM.  EXTRA OFF SITE FREE PARKING AND FREE SHUTTLE

11 am – Clay Lacy Lear Jet Unveiling
1 pm – Flower Drop Ceremony Begins – congressional presentation to Lt. Col. F. Russ Mulvany, who was a B-24 Tail Gunner during World War II.
Special guests include Lt. Col. Bob Friend, Tuskegee Airman

Flight exhibitions scheduled include P-63, P-51, C-47, T-28, T-33, B-25, F4U Corsair
WORLD’S ONLY FLYING PB4Y-2 PRIVATEER!!!

Activities include Color Guard, Palm Springs Air Museum Pipe Band, music by Heatwave Jazz Band, Knights of Columbus Helium Balloons, Harpo the Clown, and Totally Twisted Balloons.

Food vendors include In ‘n Out Burger, Freedom Fighters’ Cafe, Cone Zone, Fries Galore and Kone Pizza.

In honor to all the fallen comrades 3,000 red and white carnations drop from a vintage airplane commemorating those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The day’s activities also include flight exhibitions throughout, special program, music, children’s activities, and food vendors. A Beer Garden area is available for those age 21 and over. Visitors may take home a carnation after the drop.

Oasis Country Club  Military Personnel Memorial Day Event

  • Monday, May 27 – 11 a.m
  • The Oasis Country Club  42330 CasbahWay
  • They (military personnel) will arrive about 11:00 AM and enjoy a quick ceremony, the Memorial Day buffet, plus a round of golf. There will be several cash Hole-in-One opportunities as well as the ability to win a golf cart! Any of you wishing to contribute towards paying for our guests lunch, may do so by adding your name to a sign-up sheet posted in the lobby between the Grille and the Pro Shop, read the event’s news release. 

Indian Wells

City of Indian Wells Annual Memorial Day Ceremony

  • Monday, May 27 – 9 AM  10 PM

  • Participants to include: Indian Wells Mayor Ted J. Mertens; Keynote speaker, and musical entertainment, read the city’s event news release. Indian Wells residents and the general public are invited to attend this free air-conditioned patriotic event. No reservations are needed.
