Hayden is First Coachella Valley Firebird Forward to be Called Up by Seattle Kraken
PALM DESERT, CA (January 15, 2023) – The Coachella Valley Firebirds (@Firebirds) announced today that forward John Hayden has been recalled by the Seattle Kraken.
Hayden, 27, has recorded 25 points (13 goals, 12 assists) in the American Hockey League this season, playing in all 34 Firebirds’ games. The Chicago, IL native was signed to a one-year, two-way contract by the Kraken back on July 15.
A graduate of Yale University, Hayden has skated in 240 National Hockey League games. The 6-foot-3, 223-pound forward saw time with the Chicago Blackhawks, New Jersey Devils, Arizona Coyotes, and the Buffalo Sabres. Hayden has racked up 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists) and 283 penalty minutes in his NHL career.

NEXT GAME: The Firebirds wrap up their six-game homestand tomorrow, January 16th against the Tucson Roadrunner. Puck drop is set for 3pm.
