Did you know that the Coachella Valley is full of animal shelters/rescues that are filled with dogs and cats just waiting to be rescued?

There are numerous amazing organizations working hard to lower the rate of euthanized pets in our community.  People looking to adopt a new cat or dog, can work with these agencies to ensure that their new furry friend will fit with the needs of their family and home.  Age, weight, size and temperament are just a few of the criteria that families can specify when adopting their new family member.

Even if you are not currently looking to add a new furry friend to your household, there are numerous other ways to help out.  Other than making the obvious monetary donation, both children and adults can volunteer their time and efforts with tasks that range from anywhere to cat cuddling and dog walking to fundraising.

There are countless therapeutic benefits gifted to humans by these animals and what better way for families and communities to come together to help the lives of these lovable pets in need?

A Few Statistics….

Although currently there is not a government institution responsible for tabulating national statistics for the animal protection movement, the ASPCA has worked hard to provide the below national estimates
