All are welcome to attend the Opening Reception for the season for the Historical Society of Palm Desert at the vintage Firehouse. (72861 El Paseo) on Saturday, October 16th, from 11:00 to 1:00. Light refreshments will be served.
Travel back through the history of Palm Desert via the extensive timeline in the reception area and the newly installed exhibits on the life at the Shadow Mountain Resort (among others) in the West Prinzmetal Exhibit Room. While there, check out the antique Firetruck outside.
The Historical Society helped lead the recent successful campaign in 2018 to save the Walter White ‘Wave House.’ Come see our own heritage building.

Watch Now Live- Happening Tonight – Palm Springs VillageFest, the City’s wildly popular street fair which prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, was held every Thursday night in downtown, will return on Thursday, July 1. Coachella Valley!
With COVID-19 cases significantly down, the City Council approved re-opening VillageFest at their last night meeting, with a smaller footprint and safety protocols in place. The street fair is expected to expand to its original length in the coming months. During the summer, VillageFest hours of operation will be 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
