Coachellavalley.com‘s Craige Campbell had a chance to join in this year’s 2021 Senior Class at La Quinta High School’s Sunrise Event Tuesday early morning in the parking lot on their campus.
About 150 students and staff joined in the physically distanced drive-in style event. Each student arriving by car were greeted by staff and provided with a LQHS mask and bottle of water, before settling in a parking space facing east to get a full on view of the Sunrise this morning.
Students began filling the Parking Lot off Dune Palms just before 6:00 a m. while it was still dark and a bit chilly ( 43F ), to join together to watch the beautiful 6:43 a m. sunrise.
97.7 KRCK – The #1 Hit Music Station for the Coachella Valley simulcasted the event giving shoutouts to students over the air providing another element of fun & excitement.
Many students had their radios on and watched the live Webcam set a top the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway while enjoying their fellow classmates who collectively watched it live together, albeit from their separate cars.
During the entire event you could feel the energy from the students and staff that pulled this off memorable Live Event. The tradition continues!
