Yesterday we put out piece on 10 of Coachella Valley’s best burgers but some of you hammered us for leaving out your favorite. We will say that out of the 6 burger joints you all suggested, our curiosity has peaked the most with George’s Bar & Grill in Cathedral City. The reviews are literally World Wide! From Sweden to San Francisco to Palm Desert…..People are Raving about George’s. I think it’s time for a Burger Run!!
SO, here they are… 6 MORE Burger joints to Feed The Burger Beast In You!!
Not quite fast-food, and not quite restaurant, The Habit is relatively new to the burger scene but has true blue fans who won’t accept anything else. Getting straight to the point, the burgers are basic; the fries thick; the onion rings hand-battered and the real-ice cream shakes are thick and perfectly sweet. Sometimes simple really is better. The Habit claims to use the leanest beef of any burger, but still yields juicy and pleasantly greasy grub.
According to Steven K. of Palm Springs – There are tons of burger choices on this stretch of 111, not limited to Five Guys, In-N-Out and Red Robin, but The Habit is definitely the best. That’s some strong competition! The charburgers are juicy, with good browning from the open flame, and topped standard with grilled onions. The bread is buttery, lettuce crispy, cheese gooey. It’s a perfect burger. And the best part is it’s affordable. I don’t understand how a massive global chain like McDonald’s has to charge more than The Habit does for a far less flavorful “artisansal” burger. I’ll always love In-N-Out, but The Habit has become my habit. I’m glad another branch is opening closer to my office in PD.
The Coachella Valley is fortunate to have 2 Habit Burger’s to choose from

2. Five Guys Burger and Fries
Five Guys has been a Washington, DC area favorite since 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell offered sage advice to the four young Murrell brothers: “Start a business or go to college.”The business route won and the Murrell family opened a carry-out burger joint. Now over 20 years after Five Guys first opened, there are over 1,000 locations nationwide. They serve only hand-formed burgers cooked to perfection on a grill along with fresh-cut fries cooked in pure peanut oil. The little burger joint quickly developed a cult-like following.
