#ExcessiveHeatWarningAlert:…HEAT WAVE…High pressure has strengthened over the southwest bringing this extended period of very hot weather except at the immediate coast and at the highest elevations of the mountains.

EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM MONDAY TO 8 PM PDT THURSDAY…

Temperature…High temperatures during the peak of the heat on Tuesday and Wednesday of 117 to 123.*

The peak of the heat is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday. Nights will be quite warm as well, especially near the foothills of the mountains and in the deserts.

Toward the end of the week into the weekend, the high pressure may weaken slightly and shift northward slightly.

This would allow for some cooling and some return of monsoonal moisture. …
