Debut Of Lupine Plaza, New Outdoor Area For Palm Desert Restaurants And Diners To Enjoy!

Lupine Plaza Opens – The new open air dining destination is adjacent to El Paseo-Press release from the City of Palm Desert:

Lupine Plaza, a closed section of Lupine Lane at El Paseo provides outdoor seating for the public in Palm Desert, Calif., on Friday, October 16, 2020, and throughout the pandemic.

As part of its efforts to support local businesses, the City of Palm Desert recently unveiled Lupine Plaza, a new open air dining destination adjacent to El Paseo.

Lupine Plaza capitalizes on its El Paseo adjacent location, the Coachella Valley’s exceptional climate, and the closure of a one-block section of an underutilized street – Lupine Lane – to provide a safe and charming new space for al fresco fare and refreshment.

Diners are invited to find a seat under an umbrella at one of Lupine Plaza’s many tables and enjoy take out from one of dozens of area restaurants or order a drink from a restaurant pop-up bar inside the Plaza.

Shaded outdoor seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., which means that residents and visitors will find something to satisfy their cravings from coffee at sunrise to an after dinner drink beneath the Plaza’s canopy of string lights.

Palm Desert restaurants are invited to utilize Lupine Plaza to benefit their businesses and the space has been designed as a ready canvas for restaurateurs to showcase their innovative ideas. Any Palm Desert restaurant can utilize the location to serve delivered or takeout meals to their patrons, but restaurants are encourage to be creative and explore other opportunities such as hosting a pop up location on site.

Lupine Plaza is just the latest component of Unite Palm Desert, a City-wide campaign to ensure that Palm Desert flourishes during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Other elements of Unite Palm Desert include economic relief for businesses, rental assistance, essential needs/nonprofit support, and much more.
