Coronavirus: Riverside County reports 70 new cases, 3 additional deaths pushing total deaths to 28.

Riverside County health officials reported 70 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Tuesday afternoon, bringing the countywide total to 1,016 cases. They also reported 3 new deaths bringing the countywide total to 28, with 67 patients recovered from the virus so far.

City-by-city breakdown in the Coachella Valley:

Cathedral City: 31 cases and 1 death
Coachella: 37 cases and 0 deaths
Desert Hot Springs: 8 cases and 0 deaths
Indian Wells: 9 cases and 0 deaths
Indio: 55 cases and 2 deaths
La Quinta: 25 cases and 0 deaths
Palm Desert: 46 cases and 2 deaths
Palm Springs: 57 cases and 7 deaths
Rancho Mirage: 18 cases and 2 deaths

California: 15,865 positive cases and 374 deaths as of Saturday, according to state of California figures, which are tallied separately from the county.

The country-wide Shelter in Place order is in effect till April 30th, as directed by President Trump. As well as a mandatory cover your face order issued by Riverside County Public Health Officer, Dr. Cameron Kaiser.

TESTING CENTER IN INDIO:

The testing site at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio tested 206 people on Saturday, according to the county’s Emergency Management Department spokesperson Shane Reichardt.

Testing in Indio resumed today, Tuesday.
