Coachella Valley Summer Cooking Camp For Kids at Cooking with Class La Quinta!

Coachella Valley kids will be cooking up a storm this summer at Cooking with Class in La Quinta.  Beginning June 15, the popular cooking school offers six consecutive one-week cooking camps for different age groups for kids from 7 to 14 years of age, including “A Year of Holiday Baking”, and a more advanced program, “Way Cook Cooking School” for our Jr. Pro Culinary Kids.   

Camp fees are $375 per week for the first five camps, and $400 for the more advanced Junior Pro Culinary Camp, “Way Cool Cooking School” beginning August 3^rd.

Each camper receives daily hands-on cooking instruction from professional chefs.  All young chefs-in-training also receive a chef’s hat, personalized apron, a cooking binder of recipes to take home and a certificate of graduation. 

The August 3^rd advanced camp includes a personalized chef coat.  Camps include lunch and snacks prepared daily by the campers.  Campers also receive a ticket for a parent or guest to attend the Friday banquet catered by the student chefs that marks the end of each week’s session.

Although weekly themes and age groups vary from week to week, all programs teach children about kitchen safety and help kids gain an understanding of nutrition and healthy eating.  Owner Jane Angwin says “Not only does learning to cook help build confidence, but Kids Cooking Camp is also about making new friends, learning to create and enjoy great food and having the most fun they’ve ever had in the kitchen! 

Our chefs believe that the childhood obesity epidemic is a big problem today, and we strive to teach kids that healthy food can be delicious too.  We feel that giving kids the tools to know how to make better choices is the key”.

Parents may enroll their junior chefs in any of the weekly camps open to kids ages 7 – 14.

“Tasty Travels – Around the World”, Ages 7 – 14; July 27 – 31

Five countries in five days – a food journey with introduction to cultures and cuisines. No passport required!

 

 “Junior Pro Culinary – Way Cool Cooking School“, Ages 7-14; August 3 – 7

The most intensive of the food camp courses, designed for the truly epicurious, young foodies or future chefs. Based on principles and structure of Cooking with Class adult culinary academy. Personalized Chef coat provided!
