Clint Eastwood and Indio turn 85 this year!

The City of Indio turns 85 years old in 2015!
Incorporated on May 16, 1930, the City of Indio is celebrating its 85th Anniversary this year.
A gallon of gas was 10 cents; a new house was $7,000; a loaf of bread was 9 cents; a pound of hamburger only 13 cents; the average annual wage was $1,970; the US was in the middle of a Great Depression; Scarface was jailed for income tax evasion; the Chrysler Building in New York was completed; frozen foods are sold for the first time.
Born in 1930 were Neil Armstrong, Sean Connery, Warren Buffet, Buzz Aldrin, Ray Charles, Clint Eastwood, and Gene Hackman. The President was Herbert Hoover.
The City has planned a series of events throughout the entire year to celebrate its anniversary with the community.
The first of these events was a cocktail reception, the Coachella Valley Team caught, for the opening of the new Photographic Exhibition at the Coachella Valley History Museum held January 16th.
