City Wok Celebrates 35 Years of Culinary Excellence in Palm Desert

To commemorate this unique and historic occasion City Wok will be hosting an Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday April 30th at it’s location at The Shops at Palm Desert.

Founder Stuart Davis and City Wok are celebrating their 35th anniversary and 30 years in Palm Desert. To commemorate this unique and historic occasion City Wok will be hosting an Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday April 30th at it’s location at The Shops at Palm Desert.
City Wok opened its first unit in April of 1990 in North Hollywood California. It was unique at the time serving fresh, made from scratch, made to order Chinese cuisine at affordable prices. Takeout was done seriously with an emphasis on service and proper packaging. Today, these standards still endure.
City Wok currently has locations in Studio City and Palm Desert California. Along with franchise locations in Denver International Airport and western Kansas.
Restaurant Hospitality Magazine called City Wok in its cover story 22 years ago as “personifying the future of fast casual”. The Los Angeles Times called it’s Kung Pao Chicken, “the best outside of Chinatown”. City Wok has also won numerous “best” awards here in the valley over the years. Best Chinese. Best Asian and Best Takeout.
City Wok has been giving back to its communities since its inception. Whether it’s meals to students and first responders. YMCA, Boy’s and Girl’s Club, Child Help, St. Jude’s or free meals to out of work hospitality workers during Covid. City Wok believes in immersing itself in the community.
The 35 Anniversary Celebration will include live music, alcohol and soft drinks, delicious menu items from City Wok and a tribute to the incredible team that got us here. Not to mention many special thank yous to our special guests.

Watch Now Live- Happening Tonight – Palm Springs VillageFest, the City’s wildly popular street fair which prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, was held every Thursday night in downtown, will return on Thursday, July 1. Coachella Valley!
With COVID-19 cases significantly down, the City Council approved re-opening VillageFest at their last night meeting, with a smaller footprint and safety protocols in place. The street fair is expected to expand to its original length in the coming months. During the summer, VillageFest hours of operation will be 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
