Borrego Springs, California[1] is located in the unincorporated area of San Diego County. With a year round population ranging from 3,500 to 4,000, this is a community with no Starbucks, Walmart or Costco, in fact there are no street signals – only stop signs – and no big box stores.

Best known for being the gateway and surrounded by the 600,000 acre Anza Borrego Desert State Park, and the second Designated Dark Sky Community in the world, visitors also come from all over near[2] and far to see the famous Sky Art Metal Sculptures. However, there is so much more, and so much more happening including a thriving filming location for movies, commercials and music videos.

The pandemic has not only changed the way we think but also the way we want to live. Trending in real estate is out of the way small towns such as Borrego Springs, which is in the throes of a real estate craze not seen before in this unique area. Buyers are looking for a different type of community infrastructure and with it is coming entrepreneurs looking to open the “Mom & Pop” store they’ve always dreamed of. Borrego Springs offers a plethora of opportunities for store fronts. Once driven mainly by tourism, and the seasonal snowbirds, this tight-knit town is now also being driven by full-time residents.

So why Borrego Springs? Perhaps it’s the hiking, biking, equestrian trails, arts & culture, shopping, dining, Historic Downtown Walks, Certified Farmer’s Market, Festivals including Borrego Days, Film Festival, Art Festival, top ranked golf, camping, glamping, resorts, tennis, mid-century modern architecture and amazing views in every direction. Or maybe it’s the sense of community where everyone does know your name, or the idyllic peace and quiet not found in the city. Is it for everyone, absolutely not, but you might be surprised that it’s just what you’ve been looking for.
