Cameron Norrie claims biggest win of his career and collects His 1st Indian Wells title at the BNP Paribas Open!

In addition to winning the fifth biggest annual tennis tournament on earth, and just his second career ATP title, Norrie departs Indian Wells with his highest world ranking of 16.
He has put himself in contention for the ATP Race to Turin, now sitting at 10th in the ATP race.
With Rafael Nadal injured, Norrie is one spot and 110 points out of the top eight.
The Briton was in 14th position in the FedEx ATP Race To Turin prior to the start of Indian Wells, but has surged to 10th (on 2,795 points) after he clinched the biggest trophy of his career.
The 26-year-old is now just 160 points behind ninth-placed Hubert Hurkacz, who occupies the final qualifying spot on 2,955 points. Rafael Nadal is currently eighth, but has stopped his season due to a foot injury.

“It means so much to me, my biggest title,” said Norrie afterwards. “I’m so happy, I can’t even describe it right now. It was a strange match today but absolutely massive for me and my team and I can’t really believe it. If you would’ve told me I would have won the tournament before the tournament started, I wouldn’t believe you. So, it’s amazing.”

Indian Wells 2021 prize money: How much do the champions get?
Often regarded by tennis fans as the fifth Grand Slam, the BNP Paribas Open certainly has the prize money to match with the total prize money pool for 2021 at $16,718,910, which is identical to 2019’s offering
The tournament also offers the same prize money for men and women across singles and doubles competitions and has done since 2012, which means each tour plays for a share of $8,359,455.
According to the tournament the Indian Wells 2021 singles champions received $1,209,730, which is down 10.66% compared to the amounts Dominic Thiem and Bianca Andreescu each received in 2019.
Meanwhile, runners up receive just over half that amount with $640,000, which, although down -6.71% from two years ago.
However, the tournament will grow the money for qualifiers and first-round losers. While first-round losers will receive $18,155, a 10.53% rise vs 2019; losers in qualifying will get $4,785, which is up 40.94%.
Attendance for the Fall 2021 edition was about one-half of the record 475,372 that entered the 2019 tournament officials said.
The 2022 BNP event will take place in March In the Coachella Valley, just 5 months away.
