John Peers and Filip Polasek take the men’s doubles championship at the BNP Paribas Open, in two straight sets.
Often regarded by tennis fans as the fifth Grand Slam, the BNP Paribas Open certainly has the prize money to match with the total prize money pool for 2021 at $16,718,910, which is identical to 2019’s offering.
The tournament also offers the same prize money for men and women across singles and doubles competitions and has done since 2012, which means each tour plays for a share of $8,359,455.
According to the tournament the Indian Wells 2021 singles champions received $1,209,730, which is down 10.66% compared to the amounts Dominic Thiem and Bianca Andreescu each received in 2019.
Meanwhile, runners up receive just over half that amount with $640,000, which, although down -6.71% from two years ago.
However, the tournament will grow the money for qualifiers and first-round losers. While first-round losers will receive $18,155, a 10.53% rise vs 2019; losers in qualifying will get $4,785, which is up 40.94%.

Attendance for the Fall 2021 edition was about one-half of the record 475,372 that entered the 2019 tournament officials said.
The 2022 BNP event will take place in March In the Coachella Valley, just 5 months away.
