An evacuation warning was issued for the Morongo Valley community on Thursday as the massive Apple Fire remained 30% contained, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.

“There is a potential threat to life and/or property,” the Sheriff’s Department said. “Those who require additional time to evacuate, and those with pets and livestock should leave now.”

Highway 62 was suggested as an evacuation route in either direction.

WARNING EVACUATION FOR ALL OF MORONGO VALLEY!

This is a notice to voluntary evacuate all residents of Morongo Valley ONLY.

What this means: Put your plan into action. Start to move your animals, belongings, family and friends.

This is a voluntary move. If the fire activity moves into a dangerous distance then the ORDER to evacuate will be issued.

Again, this is an evacuation WARNING. Prepare to move, move now with plenty of time.

BE SAFE,
Div Chief Robert Springer MVFD.
