FREE Seminar with tips to help you build a thriving Drought resistant Garden!!!

DROUGHT, WATER RESTRICTIONS AND YOUR GARDEN

The Living Desert is offering a free seminar with tips to help everyone maintain a thriving home garden in light of the steep water restrictions now in place in the Coachella Valley.

On Tuesday, June 2 at 3 p.m., in the Chase Board Room, The Living Desert will co-host “Drought, Water Restrictions and Your Garden.” The event, hosted and sponsored by the Desert Horticultural Society of the Coachella Valley (DHSCV), is free and open to the public.

The Living Desert has assembled a panel that will provide information on how to best mange your garden water needs during the restrictions. The panel will consist of desert garden specialist Kirk Anderson and local landscape designer Paul Ortega. Representatives from the Coachella Valley Water District, Desert Water Agency, Indio Water Authority and Mission Springs Water District also will be on hand. Jessyca Frederick, of Water Wise Now will be available to answer irrigation questions.

The Desert Horticultural Society of Coachella Valley is a group of local professionals and residents from a variety of backgrounds, united in interest to encourage and promote desert landscaping in the Coachella Valley. The group includes home gardeners, landscape industry professionals, volunteers and staff of The Living Desert, faculty and staff from local area colleges and water districts, and many others who share a love of gardening and concern for water conservation in the desert.
