Enjoy the day outdoors surrounded by the magnificent Santa Rosa mountains. Live entertainment, free admission & parking.
As featured local artist Gideon Cohn puts it, “This is a great opportunity to show you art in a non-gallery setting” Gideon is right, there is no better place to see the various types of art than Old Town La Quinta. The setting that Old Town creates is great because it allows for patrons to walk around and easily view hundreds of pieces in just one afternoon and enjoy the local restaurants, wine bars and boutique shops that line the street.Art on Main Street is also a great event that showcases many of the best artists from the Coachella Valley. As local jewelry artist Sarah Anderson stated, "The valley is growing. People are staying longer,” because of events like Art on Main Street, many local artists are now able to gain exposure to the growing number of people visiting the Coachella Valley.A GREAT EXPERIENCE - this event not only allows guests to purchase art on site, but also gives them a unique opportunity to interact with the artists in this non-gallery type setting. One such artist is Loretta Lowell. When describing her creative process Loretta explains, “My art is made of vintage pieces, one piece will set me off to create a wall assemblage or sculpture”. An event like this is very unique because patrons are able to have casual conversations with artists and the artists get the chance to see their fans and make new ones. SAVE THE DATES: Art on Main Street will be held the following Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 2016: October 29, November 12, & November 26. 2017: January 21, February 4, February 18, March 18, April 8.
